So far, we're all eagerly awaiting the release of the Nike Air Trainer 1 Utility range, but apparently, the sporting goods manufacturer will be creating more colourways before that. A new look is now offered by this Nike Air Trainer 1 Utility "Dark Smoke Grey", which has just been unveiled with the official images.

We could have predicted the large number of Nike Air Trainer 1 Utility. After all, the silhouette turns 35 this year, and Nike will be celebrating that in a big way. But what is actually behind the sneaker, and who actually designed the silhouette? We did a little research and summarised some facts for you here.

The sneaker was first introduced in 1987. Until then, sporting goods manufacturers used to develop a special sports shoe for each sport. But is there actually a sneaker that covers all sports? Tinker Hatfield had also been looking for this solution, and a short time later, the Nike Air Trainer 1 Utility was born.

This retro sneaker offers a high profile, as well as a midfoot strap, to better secure the feet. Another detail is also the encapsulated Air unit in the midsole, which provides additional cushion to every step. All this adds up to a perfect sports shoe for the gym, tennis, or basketball.

Now, we know a lot more and also understand the large number of styles Nike is preparing for the 35th anniversary. This variant offers a gritty look. The Nike Air Trainer 1 Utility "Dark Smoke Grey" features dark panels, with the side panels offering a colourful gradient. Then, at the bottom, a yellow midsole shakes up the design significantly.

Don't Miss the Release of the Nike Air Trainer 1 Utility "Dark Smoke Grey"

Unfortunately, there is no fixed release date for the Nike Air Trainer 1 Utility "Dark Smoke Grey" yet, but the first colourways are supposed to drop in the next weeks and months. We will of course notify you beforehand when the sneakers drop.
