The Story Behind the Nike x Dunk Kasina Low
Update 17.09.2020
Just a few days ago, the first leaks came out, and almost two weeks later, the official pictures have finally appeared. The Kasina x Nike Dunk Low "Industrial Blue" is, in our opinion, one of the most exciting releases this fall. On September 25th, the sneaker will be released via the Nike SNKRS Asia app and the Kasina Online Shop. A major release has not been mentioned yet.

Kasina was founded in 1997 by former professional skateboarder EunHyuk Lee and is known as a catalyst for street fashion in South Korea. By collaborating on the Dunk with Nike, Kasina continues to tell its story — from its humble beginnings in Busan, South Korea's second largest city, to the opening of several doors in the metropolis of Seoul, the country's capital.
The two colour schemes of the Dunk Kasina both refer to a journey through Korea. The neptune-green colour is drawn from the signs lining the Gyeongbu Expressway, the main highway between Busan and Seoul. In the mid-1980s, the same time as Dunk Kasina was introduced, Seoul experienced a population boom. This growth, symbolized by traveling on Korea's highways, underpins the Kasina trip. "Busan" and "Seoul" are written on the left and right heel flap, respectively.
Similarly, the industrial-blue colour scheme is inspired by the Korean transportation system of the 1980s. It reflects the look and feel of Seoul's vintage buses, to the point of a unique hang tag based on a steering wheel.
"Kasina" is written on the tongue of both shoes, and the logo appears embroidered on the heel and inside the tongue tag. Additionally, both shoes are packaged with custom woven prints inspired by street signs to complete the story.
