"Welcome Jon Wexler to the Shopify Team"
Shortly after Jon Wexler left adidas, former Yeezy General Manger reveals on Instagram that he is now switching to Shopify. The marketing guru has been working for the brand with the Three Stripes for 20 years, and now he is on the Shopify team.
What is Shopify?
Shopify is an e-commerce software. Small and medium-sized retailers can use the platform to create their own online shop. But in the first years, Shopify was not very popular. One of the biggest marketing campaigns is the competition in 2010, when founder Tobias Lütke launched a campaign that allowed an entrepreneur to win $100,000, the highest turnover in two consecutive months. With this strategy, the Shopify platform experienced tremendous growth and is now one of the largest companies with a turnover of $1.58 billion (2019).
Jon Wexler became part of the company on September 14th. At Shopify, he will be the "Vice President of the Creator and Influencer Program".
"I have been a long-time admirer of Shopify and strongly believe in their mission to create a level playing field for entrepreneurs," said Wexler. "When I join Shopify to build and lead the Creator and Influencer program, I have a unique opportunity to help creators and artists of all sizes and disciplines connect with their customers. It's incredibly special."
"Our goal is to help as many aspiring entrepreneurs as possible to go from an idea to a flourishing and successful business. Creators and Influencers are a unique breed of entrepreneurs, and we want them to build their brands and legacies on Shopify," said Shopify VP and GM Loren Padelford in an official statement. "I am therefore very pleased to welcome Jon to our team. The combination of Jon, Shopify, and the developer community will change the way this group uses its influence to create world-class brands."
