The Nike Air Max Plus is quietly celebrating its 25th anniversary. Recently, the Sean McDowell-designed model was dressed for the occasion in a decadent collection of "Sail" and burgundy hues. Similar to the metallic red and gold finishes applied to Iron Man's suits, the legendary racing design from the late 90s relies on a simple "Sail" base tone. This is followed by "Team Red" colours that wrap the leather tongue, nylon collar, laces and fastenings.
 
Dipping the first part of the re-appearing TPU overlay in that hue, a warm vanilla gradient emerges at the bottom, transitioning to the neutral sole unit underfoot. Consisting of a mix of beige tones, the Max Air unit throughout features further golden embellishments parallel to the swooshes at the ends of the pair of shoes.
