Get a Sneaker with Australian Bird Flair with the Up There x ASICS Gel-Lyte III "Kookaburra"

Australian store Up There and ASICS have taken the iconic GEL-Lyte III sneaker and given it a touch of the Southern Hemisphere in the form of the Kookaburra bird. The Kookaburra, known for its distinctive laugh, is a beloved symbol of Australia, and now it has been immortalised on one of the most coveted sneakers. It's not the first time Up There has brought a touch of its homeland to the people, and it certainly won't be the last.

 

The Up There x ASICS Gel-Lyte III "Kookaburra" comes in a creamy white hue inspired by the earthy tones that reflect from the kookaburra's plumage. The mesh base, tongue construction, laces, lining and suede mudguard are all in this hue, while the midsection transitions into a dark brown speckled design and the hairy textured heel is in this colour. Accents of light blue continue on the turquoise tiger stripe and at the tips of the cream laces, while below they are accented once again by the black-covered tread. The shoes also feature an additional pair of brown and blue oval laces and come in a cream box that features a pair of kookaburras resting on a branch. They will be available at Up There from 27 October priced at €142, while the worldwide release is scheduled for 4 November.
