The collaboration between James Harden and adidas Basketball brings forth a special "Dragon Boat Festival" version of the Harden Vol. 8, characterised by its avant-garde and forward-thinking design. This edition celebrates the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, a deeply rooted tradition that honours the ancient Chinese poet Qu Yuan.

The sneaker's design is bursting with cultural references, from the internal bootie construction for comfortable support to external design elements that directly reference Chinese culture. The grey foam overlay with linear pattern, the traditional woven pattern on the midfoot, the white lacing systems with a red nylon drawstring decorated with a tassel bearing an ancient Chinese coin and pearl are all elements deeply rooted in Chinese heritage.

The heel of the shoe also adds thematic accents with jade and white pearls embedded in the heel tabs and a gold-coloured heel counter symbolising wealth and prosperity. The outsole combines jade, gold and semi-translucent clear rubber and integrates the adidas Jet Boost cushioning system for unrivalled comfort and performance.
