Air Jordan 36 to Be Released in August

Update 17.08.2021

Michael Jordan hasn't played basketball since 2003, but he has remained true to the sport. This is proven by his long-lasting Air Jordan line, which is now complemented by a new model. Nike proudly presents the Air Jordan 36 (XXXVI), which does without the traditional materials.

The new Air Jordan 36 also introduces a Jacquard Leno fabric. The material is extremely lightweight, breathable, and flexible without compromising support. Additionally, the light-inspired design allows more colour to shine through on the Air Jordan 36, thanks to the twisted threads in the upper.

At the bottom, the new silhouette borrows from previous models. The shoes feature a full-length Zoom Air unit that ties directly to the upper, preventing any obstruction between the foot and cushioning. In addition, the Eclipse Plate returns for more performance benefits for basketball players like Jayson Tatum, Satou Sabally, Kia Nurse, and Luka Dončić.

"We were no longer looking to expose the Zoom Air pockets. We wanted to connect the tape and hide the plate system," says Tate Keurbis, Jordan Brand Footwear Designer. "In doing so, we brought in subtle details from the Air Jordan VI and created tooling that conveys Michael's lasting influence in global culture."

The Air Jordan 36 will be debuted by multiple basketball players around the world from today until mid-September, while the featured Air Jordan 36 "First Light" will be released in China on August 29th and worldwide on September 2nd.

Update 10.08.2021

Will the Air Jordan 36 now be released earlier? According to reports, the new silhouette was supposed to drop in September to coincide with the start of the 2021–2022 NBA season. However, new information now points to a release this month, as several retailers in other regions have listed the Air Jordan 36 on their release calendar.

Added to that are these official images of a Grade School version. There is no information on the bright colours yet, but Nike will probably reveal the details of the model soon. The mesh on the Air Jordan 36 is slightly reminiscent of the Nike Kyrie 7, but the highlight of this technological sneaker is probably the sole. We can possibly expect an Eclipse Plate 3.0.

Retailers are announcing a drop on August 19th, although no information has been given yet. We will stay tuned and keep you up to date.

Update 26.05.2021

After a quick first look yesterday, we now have an even better picture of the new sneaker for you. Jayson Tatum shares the Air Jordan 36 in Brooklyn in Game 2 of Eastern Conference Round 1 against the Brooklyn Nets. Stay tuned with us and don't miss the updates with our Grailify App.

Without any warning from insiders, images of a new Air Jordan sneaker may have just leaked. Here's the info we have so far.

Satou Sabally, Jordan ambassador and star forward for the Dallas Wings, shared a first look at a possible Air Jordan 36 on Twitter. Similar to Jordan Brand's latest performance sneaker, the unnamed sneaker could feature a modern Eclipse Plate in the midsole.

Other key elements on the alleged Air Jordan 36 include a signature tall shape and a layered upper. We’ve also noticed the tongues, in particular, as they have an additional patch on the middle with a Jumpman branding, which is comparable to the Air Jordan 6.

Don't Miss the Release of the Air Jordan 36

Satou shows us a purple colour scheme of the possible Air Jordan 36, so we're excited to see the official images of this mysterious sneaker.
