Air Jordan 5 "El Grito" Planned for 2024

Update 12.09.2024

Jordan Brand celebrates Mexican culture with its latest release, the Air Jordan 5 "El Grito", inspired by Mexican identity and tradition. The white leather upper features embossed details reminiscent of Mexican handicrafts such as Talavera ceramics. Red and green lace fastenings, midsole teeth and engraved ‘Viva’ dubraes emphasise the design.

On the inside, a geometric pattern in burgundy and a tricolour Jordan Brand label refer to the Mexican heritage. According to Nike, after a limited release in Mexico, including at the Jordan World of Flight Mexico City store, the sneaker will be available worldwide from 12 September via Nike.com and selected retailers. But we haven't spotted it yet.

Update 26.08.2024

Original article 18.01.2024

Jordan Brand has built up a gigantic portfolio of sneakers in its long history and still releases an even more advanced version every year.

While the Air Jordan 1 made the start, there are now dozens of models and styles and countless more colourways. One silhouette holds a special place in the hearts of many OG sneakerheads. Even if the Air Jordan 5 can't match the popularity of the original, it has nevertheless built up a considerable fanbase that follows every release. Now, fans of the model can look forward to a clean version in autumn 2024.

Derived from the historic call "El Grito de Dolores" by Father Miguel Hidalgo on 16 September 1810, this version commemorates Mexico's fight for freedom.

The Air Jordan 5 "El Grito" is rumoured to drop in autumn 2024 for a price of €200, although this is of course still unconfirmed information. The potential design of the shoe is also not yet set in stone. But we'll keep you up to date in any case!
