The official images of the Nike LeBron 21 "Purple Rain" (also known as "Violet Dust") were released ahead of the mid-month release date. In both colourway and name, the "Purple Rain" appears to be a tribute to the late and great Prince, of whom LeBron James is an avid fan. The main feature seen in the official image, not previously revealed in leaks, is the special inner sole detail found on other LeBron 21s, depicting a ring-trimmed hand - a nod to King James' four NBA championships. The sneaker is rumoured to drop on 14 October.

LeBron James has now confirmed the Nike LeBron 21 "Violet Dust" via Instagram. The NBA star did not name a release date, but rumour has it that the sneakers will be released on 14 October.

With an eye-catching colour scheme of "Violet Dust/Melon Tint-Purple Cosmos", this LeBron 21 is certainly one to have.
