How NBA Jam and Converse Now Honour an Old Arcade Game

From 1993 to 2011, NBA fans could take on the role of their favourite players and play basketball in NBA Jam, a sports-themed arcade game. The legendary game has since been replaced by NBA2K, but the graphics and memorable announcements will forever be remembered by many NBA fans.

Converse has now dug deep into the archives and created a collection with developer NBA Jam. Together, the new partners will launch three shoes that hint at the game's heyday and announcements. These include an NBA Jam x Converse Chuck 70, Pro Leather, as well as a third silhouette, which has yet to be revealed.

We start with the classic Chuck 70, which alludes to the hardwood floor. They are inspired by the pattern and transfer the logo of the video game onto the large sides. The other model is a black NBA Jam x Converse Pro Leather, which stands out because of the pixelated details and inspirational slogans. The side logo falls from the sky like a burning star, while "HE'S ON FIRE" lettering is spotlighted in teal.

Don't Miss the Release of the NBA Jam x Converse Collection

The third iteration hasn't been shown yet, but we're anticipating a modern silhouette from Converse. Check out the official images here in advance and assume a drop on August 30th on converse.com.
