Kyrie Irving Covers His Nike Kyrie 3 "Raygun" with Black Tape

Kyrie Irving is no stranger to making headlines, and his latest move is sure to get people talking. The superstar was spotted playing in a pair of Nike trainers covered in tape, presumably because he no longer has a contract with the company. It is definitely an interesting development in the ongoing saga surrounding his endorsement deals.

The controversial basketball star opted not to wear his latest Nike Kyrie 9 signature shoe, instead opting to play in a pair of Nike Kyrie 3 "Raygun" shoes that were originally released in 2018.

Irving certainly took a stab at creativity when he showed up to the basketball game in a pair of Nike Kyrie 3 "Rayguns" with cleverly placed tape over Nike's branding elements. The tape read "I AM FREE/Thank You God...I AM" and "Logo Here".

It seems like he wants to free himself from the restrictions of sponsored shoes and make sure fans don't forget that Kyrie can still throw in any pair of sneakers! In his last game, the Brooklyn Nets won 122–116 against the Charlotte Hornets.
