Latest Pickup: Nike Air Force 1 LX "Desert Camo"
What a fierce year 2020 has been. Sneakerheads, fashion enthusiasts, and hypebeasts have filled their shoe shelves with numerous new Grails. One way or another, some have probably walked away with an L. But there are two sneakers that we will definitely get to enjoy for a long time to come. The legendary Dior x Air Jordan 1 High and the Low version are definitely among the hottest models from last year.
And while we are only at the beginning of 2021, numerous new leaks have already been shared on the net that will be released in the near future. However, we can very well imagine that the major sporting goods manufacturers will once again have a few surprises in store and will soon deliver shock drops to the community.
Issues like the upcoming 3D Air Force 1 SE "Love For All" showcase the creativity of Nike's design team when it comes to dressing up the brand's most popular sneaker despite countless iterations that have already been released. Another testament to their creativity is this luxurious AF1, which experiments with camo patterns in an unorthodox way.
Style
For Nike, the year 2021 begins with a distinct change. The beloved classic, the Nike Air Force 1, gets a fresh colourway with a new pattern and atypical materials for the start. Nevertheless, the silhouette has not lost its charisma, as the shapes and the comfortable Air sole still remain. The camo pattern with different shades of brown immediately catches the eye.
Nike uses synthetic materials and mixes them with large patches that slowly become a sandy camouflage pattern. Even part of the overlays and Swooshes are covered with the spots. Next to it, a soft blue shines next to the white leather Swooshes.
For the upper, Nike uses at least 50% recycled leather fibre and combines it with the DNA of the retro sneaker. The shredded materials are hardly noticeable, however. Finally, we look at the colourful elements. Nike Air branding in "Team Orange" shines on the tongues and the insoles in neon yellow. In our opinion, these are very striking colours for such a quiet colourway.
Technical Highlights
The speckled Nike Grind rubber contains at least 13% recycled materials. But that doesn't affect the level of comfort. The Nike Air Force 1 LX "Desert Camo" feels very good and Nike's Air damping cushions every step.
Although the sewn overlays look quite unusual, the traditional basketball style from the classic remains. That's why we love every step even with the shoe’s unique design. In addition, the new materials reduce the weight while still maintaining durability.
Conclusion on the Nike Air Force 1 LX "Desert Camo"
At the beginning, we were a little sceptical. Over the years, we have become accustomed to the traditional look of the Nike Air Force 1. But the elegant "Desert Camo" managed to convince us after just a short time. The pattern and the harmonious composition of the colours look quite nice. Hopefully, more colourways will be released.
