A black tracksuit, paired with running trainers featuring strikingly thick soles. Sometimes that’s all it takes to create a great look. This time, we’ve paired the Nike Vomero Plus in Black/White with the Nike Sportswear Club Poly knitted tracksuit. Both pieces are fairly understated in terms of colour, but add different touches of style.

Whilst the Club tracksuit impresses with its classic sportswear look, the Vomero Plus offers a good dose of modern running technology. We particularly like the combination of the black upper, the white ZoomX sole and the sleek tracksuit.

Nike Vomero Plus: Running technology with plenty of volume

The first thing you notice about the Nike Vomero Plus is, of course, the massive midsole. Nike has opted for a particularly thick layer of ZoomX foam here, which runs the entire length of the shoe. The strongly curved shape makes the trainer quite eye-catching, even though the colourway itself could hardly be any simpler.

The upper is made from breathable engineered mesh in black. This is complemented by a white Swoosh on the side and subtle grey details. The white midsole provides the greatest contrast and really makes the silhouette stand out.

We particularly like the way Nike has designed the various lines on the sole. Instead of a simple, straight shape, the Vomero Plus features an almost wave-like structure. This gives the shoe a dynamic and rather futuristic look, without the need for eye-catching colours.

ZoomX makes all the difference

The Vomero Plus was developed primarily for runners who value exceptionally soft cushioning. Unlike the standard Vomero 18, this model features ZoomX foam throughout. The material is lightweight, responsive and designed to deliver high energy return.

Nike has also prioritised comfort in the upper. The soft mesh aids ventilation, whilst the woven lace loops allow for a personalised fit. The shoe features an abrasion-resistant rubber outsole, designed to provide extra traction and durability.

What we like about the silhouette: The Vomero Plus not only looks like a performance shoe, but its simple colourway also means it can be easily incorporated into an everyday outfit. The voluminous shape works particularly well with slightly looser-fitting training trousers.

Nike Club Poly: A classic tracksuit never goes out of fashion

As a counterpart to the technical Vomero Plus, we’ve opted for the Nike Sportswear Club Poly knitted tracksuit. The two-piece set comes entirely in black and is accented only by white details.

The jacket features a full-length zip, a classic stand-up collar and elasticated cuffs and hem. It also has white piping along the shoulders and sleeves, which gives the tracksuit a sporty, retro look.

Nike remains true to its classic sportswear range with these trousers too. They feature an elasticated waistband with a drawstring and a relaxed, standard fit. The side pockets, which are featured on both the jacket and the trousers, are also practical.

The fabric is made from 100% recycled polyester. The lightweight polyester knit feels soft and is designed for comfort. This makes the tracksuit ideal for relaxing days, when you’re out and about, or simply as a low-maintenance everyday outfit.

Black and white simply always work

With this outfit, it’s the contrast between the two silhouettes that really makes the difference. The Club tracksuit has a sporty yet understated cut, whilst the Vomero Plus adds significantly more volume thanks to its thick sole.

The white details on the tracksuit echo the Swoosh and the midsole of the trainers. This creates a cohesive look, without both pieces following exactly the same design approach.

For us, it’s the combination of classic Nike Sportswear and modern running technology that makes it so appealing. The tracksuit would work just as well with an Air Max 90 or a P-6000, but the Vomero Plus adds yet another dimension thanks to its distinctive sole shape.

And sometimes it’s actually quite nice to have an outfit where you don’t have to spend ages thinking about what to wear in the morning. A black tracksuit, black and white trainers – that’s it.

Conclusion
The Nike Vomero Plus and the Nike Club Poly tracksuit go together surprisingly well. The shoe brings the technical aspect to the table with its full-length ZoomX cushioning and distinctive midsole, whilst the tracksuit offers a classic sportswear look.

The Nike Vomero Plus ‘Black/White’ is available from Nike for €179.99. The Nike Club Poly-Knit Tracksuit costs €89.99 and is also available directly from Nike.
