The Dunk hype is getting bigger and bigger with every release, and it seems like we don't have enough of the low and high sneakers yet. We want to add every new colourway to our daily rotation so we can style every outfit to perfection.

And even though the sneakers have been around since 1985, Nike is always finding new ways to bring the shoes to the forefront. Most recently, it was in the form of some revived iterations from the legendary "Be True to Your School" collection, as well as collaborative sneakers with AMBUSH and Bodega.

Now, the warmer days are upon us, and with the new season come new and vibrant colourways from Nike. For the next few weeks, the Beaverton-based brand has prepared a Nike Dunk Low "University Blue" and a "Laser Orange", as well as a Nike Dunk High "Black". All three colourways should receive a lot of support from the community. Let's take a look at the sneakers.

Style - Simple and Uncomplicated

Nike Dunk Low "University Blue"

The love for "University Blue" has never been this great. In fact, it's so big that this Nike Dunk Low could be the best sneaker in 2021. And Nike is releasing the sneaker at the most perfect time: when the temperatures are going up. But really, we're more used to seeing the colour scheme on a high-cut sneaker. So, we welcome this change in a low version all the more.

The solid and uncomplicated colour combination makes this sneaker so desirable. A white leather base forms the foundation for the UNC signature. Overlays get the University Blue hue entirely, and the laces, branding, and other elements like the insoles and outsoles follow suit.

Nike Dunk Low "Laser Orange"

Right next to it is this eye-catching Nike Dunk Low "Laser Orange". It's as if Nike waited months for the first rays of sunshine to release this sunny colourway. And although strongly reminiscent of a low "Syracuse", the model uses a lighter shade. The construction is similar to the aforementioned sneaker with white leather as the base, while the vibrant "Laser Orange" marks the overlays. The laces, lining, and other details also receive the titular hue.

Nike Dunk High "Black"

No matter how many colourways you have in your closet, a classic "Black/White" — or "Panda" as many fans affectionately call it — always works! The colour scheme is one of the simplest designs and also one of the most sought-after colourways. Here, Nike combines "University Red" details with the black and white pattern for more contrast. As standard, the tongues are made of nylon, and the soles mirror the upper pattern in black and white.

Technical Details

The vintage look and new colourways are not the only features that make the sneakers worth recommending. Originally designed for the hardwood in the '80s, the silhouettes have a lot of athleticism in them.

Both the base and the overlays are made of sturdy leather for durability. After some time, the material softens even more if the sneakers are worn frequently. In addition, lightweight foam midsoles cushion every step, while the padded collar underlines the 1985 style.

Conclusion on the Nike Dunk Low "University Blue", "Laser Orange", and Nike Dunk High "Black"

Nike has announced more models with animal prints or the tie-dye effect, but the traditional two-tone pattern will probably be far from boring. So, we are really looking forward to these releases on May 28th at Nike and selected retailers. Unfortunately, there is still no confirmed release date for the Nike Dunk Low "University Blue" yet, which was also supposed to drop on Friday.
