Latest Pickup: Nike Dunk Low "University Red"

It seems like the summer parade of Dunk Lows from Nike is endless. More and more iterations appear on the horizon, filling the already packed release calendar with new colours and details. Most recently, the first pairs from the new Nike "First Use" Pack appeared, which we presented to you here. The "First Use" Pack celebrates the early days of the Swoosh with unique details.

But how far could Nike go with the hype silhouette? After all, some old colourways have already returned, such as the fragment design x Nike Dunk High "Beijing" or the great "Be True to Your School" from 1985. Has the silhouette run out of steam yet? Probably not, because now, the label announced this famous colourway.

Sneakerheads will immediately recognise the roots of the Nike Dunk Low "University Red". This model uses the white and red colours of the iconic Dunk from the legendary "Be True to Your School" pack and simply turns them on their head. This new design opens up a whole new door for Nike to have a wild time with more colourways. Let's take a look at the Nike Dunk Low "University Red" now.

The Nike Dunk Low "University Red" dates back to 1985 when Nike released the famous Dunk Pack "Be True to Your School" and provides a fresh yet familiar look with its colour scheme.

Usually, we know the colourways of Dunks in a different arrangement. The titular colour paints the mudguard, eyestays, Swooshes, heels, and heel tabs. The second shade (usually always white) then covers the toebox, centre panels, and collar.

Here, however, it is different, as the primary shade "University Red" hits the toebox, side panels, and collar, while white hits the rest. Apart from the insoles, a rich orange paints the Nike branding and Swooshes. The tongues are matched to the theme and label and the laces come in a white hue.

For many years, Nike Dunks have not only impressed with their colourways, but also with their ultimate comfort. Supple leather feels much better after some time as it becomes softer, and classic overlays underline the basketball style from the '80s.

The soles have also been developed further, as lightweight foam reduces the weight of the Nike Dunk Low "University Red" and are also extremely responsive. Other elements like a classic sole with basketball pivot point provide durability, traction, and traditional style.
