You won't believe what Chicago police uncovered this week! They got on the trail of a major underground operation that stole valuable shipments of merchandise from rail cars en route to retailers across the country. The stash they discovered was worth millions of dollars and contained a lot of hot merchandise: stolen sneakers from top brands like Adidas, Nike and Supreme. CBS Chicago was the first to report this huge bust.
Apparently, thanks to a report of stolen shoes in the area, they were able to make some serious progress in the investigation. As it turned out, the thefts were traced to a warehouse where police were able to obtain a search warrant. According to Lyons Police Chief Tom Heroin, the total value of the goods seized was a staggering $5 million! Makes you wonder how long these criminals could get away with it, doesn't it?
