Insiders have shared detailed on-feet images of the unreleased Nike Air Max 1 “Shima Shima”. The sneaker has not been confirmed yet, but it is rumoured to drop this year via Nike SNKRS.

The “Shima Shima” collection was one of Nike’s most memorable releases when it was launched in the early ’80s. Perhaps to mark the 20th anniversary of this popular collection, Nike is now returning with a brand-new colourway of the Air Max 1. Via Instagram, insiders have shared these images showing a Nike Air Max 1 “Shima Shima”.

This sneaker stands out from its predecessor with a sleek and classic colourway in neutral tones, deep browns, and earth tones. Nike has kept classic details like the Japanese text on the inner lining and tongue label to stay true to the original.

Although the Nike Air Max 1 “Shima Shima” has been updated, the recognisable features ensure sneakerheads won’t soon forget this old Nike classic.

Nike really knows how to get us excited for an anniversary release. Let’s just hope there will be enough pairs, no matter how big the hype! Unfortunately, no release date has been set yet, but we suspect an exclusive version of the Nike Air Max 1 “Shima Shima” in Europe in 2023.
