Nike Unveils The Zoom Freak 3

The next signature shoe from reigning two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Nike Zoom Freak 3, has surfaced ahead of its official unveiling. The shoe supports the dynamic physical ability of the basketball player with new technologies, and soon, we will have access to this new power.

"One of the hallmarks of his athleticism is the rapid transfer of energy from leg to leg to manoeuvre his body through gaps," says Ross Klein, Sr. Creative Director for Men's Performance Footwear at Nike. "Giannis works with his foot like he works with the gas and brake. He's also working all different angles of his foot as he drives to the basket, so we wanted the design to match the way he transitions from step to step."

To do this, Nike uses two propulsive Zoom Air units under the ball of the foot to absorb energy from impact. The sneakers themselves are kept very close to the ground, meaning the feet are placed as low to the ground as possible for better control. In addition, there is a large strap over the midfoot, which adjusts the foot effectively to prevent slipping. Lastly, familiar traction patterns from Nike basketball complete the Nike Zoom Freak 3.

When Will the First Nike Zoom Freak 3 Be Released?

The black Nike Zoom Freak 3 will be released worldwide on July 1st at Nike and selected retailers, as well as in North America in August. More colourways have also been planned.
