Last year was a very intense year because of the great releases, but which sneaker actually sold the most? Nike, adidas, and co. fought an exciting race, and this is how the rankings of the best-selling sneakers of 2021 look like.

In first place is the popular Nike Air Force 1, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. For the second year in a row, the silhouette secures the top ranking in the sports industry. NPD's Vice President and Senior Advisor Matt Powell recently released the results as part of the research firm's Sneakernomics 2021 Year in Review.

Surprisingly, however, very little movement took place. The top 10 sneakers on the 2021 best-seller list are the same as in 2020, with the rankings having changed a little. Nike and Jordan Brand claim 9 out of 10 spots, and the adidas NMD R1 proudly represents Three Stripes from Herzogenaurach.

The companies' recorded point-of-sale systems were observed for the evaluation. Secondary markets and other e-commerce channels may not have been considered. Here's how the top 10 spots for best-selling sneakers in 2021 look.
