No Adhesive is Used in the adidas Y-3 ITOGO

The latest release from adidas Y-3, the ITOGO, is a unique exploration of the future of the shoe. Its edgy black or white upper and neutral base are inspired by Japanese aesthetics. By reducing the design to just five components - elastic straps, knit upper, Boost midsole, rubber outsole and thread - adidas Y-3 has created a shoe that is both aesthetically pleasing and functionally flawless. What's more, the name "ITOGO" is a perfect homage to its composition: a fusion of the Japanese words for thread - "Ito" and five "Go".

Instead of relying on glue, adidas has joined the Primeknit upper with two thick straps that have been sewn together. In addition to this practical function, adidas has added a touch of style to the shoe by weaving the branding into the straps, and Yohji Yamamoto's signature adorns the tongue and the underside of the rubber outsole. The adidas Y-3 ITOGO will be available in white and black from March 16th at adidas, on the CONFIRMED app and at select retailers worldwide.
