Official Images of the Nike Air Force 1 "Jackie Robinson"

The Nike Air Force 1 "Jackie Robinson" is a tribute to the famous baseball player and civil rights activist who became known as the first black player in the modern MLB era. Last year, Nike released a special Jackie Robinson-inspired colourway of the Dunk Low to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the baseball legend breaking the racial barrier in the sport in 1947. 
 
The Nike Air Force 1 "Jackie Robinson" is a little more subtle than its Dunk counterpart last year and features a white leather upper and grey overlay panels. The blue accents on the tongue, Swoosh and heel counter pay homage to the Brooklyn Dodgers, the team where Robinson made his professional debut. His iconic jersey number is embroidered on the heel cap, while the year he became the first black player and the year of his retirement are immortalised on the aglets. The words "change the world" can be read on the laces and the Speckled Gum sole completes the design. The launch of the sneaker is not yet known, but other regions are dropping the sneaker on April 15th.
