TLDR: The adidas AE 2 ‘Blue Fusion’ is the long-awaited successor to Anthony Edwards' acclaimed debut sneaker. With an improved fit, sleeker silhouette and eye-catching colour blocking, the performance shoe will make its debut on 27 October 2025 for €130. As always, more information is available at Grailify. After the huge success of the adidas AE 1 – both on the court and in the sneaker community – it was clear that Anthony Edwards and adidas Basketball had to capitalise on the hype. But instead of rushing to follow up, they took their time: the new adidas AE 2 has been eagerly awaited for months and is now finally being released in the eye-catching ‘Blue Fusion’ colourway.
The shoe not only brings a breath of fresh air visually: the upper is made of a breathable, multi-layered mesh material in rich blue. Neon green highlights on the toebox and a black centre stripe provide bold contrasts and clear Timberwolves vibes. The striking, angular midsole and cut-outs in the heel construction are reminiscent of speed and explosiveness.
The AE 2 also delivers on the technical front: a new V-split collar construction improves ankle mobility, while a sock-like neoprene inner bootie guarantees a secure fit. The lightweight foam midsole provides energy return with every step, and the redesigned outsole offers optimal grip for quick changes of direction. An additional carbon-look heel clip provides more stability during hard landings.
