adidas NMD S1 Onyx

"Is this supposed to be an NMD"? That's what some of you are probably thinking right now. But this is actually the brand-new adidas NMD S1 – a completely redesigned version of the original NMD R1.

The new S1 does without its iconic plugs on the sides. Instead, the new S1 is now adorned with thinner stripes in the midsole. The thick outsole is also adorned with a small Trefoil logo and "NMD S1" lettering. The only thing that still reminds us of an NMD R1 is the typical lacing and the comfortable Primeknit upper. The outsole is particularly striking. If you look at the sole from below, you can see a lot of adidas Trefoil logos that serve as traction teeth — very cool in any case.

The latest colourway features the brand-new NMD S1 with a dark-grey upper, which is complemented by other elements of the same colour on the upper. The chunky outsole is wrapped in a minty green this time around, which provides a contrast with the rest of the sneaker for a two-part look.
