To celebrate 40 years of the Air Jordan 1, Jordan Brand has come up with something special: with the ‘Rare Air’ pack, the iconic sneaker gets a fresh reinterpretation - including special branding elements and clever design twists. The Air Jordan 1 High OG Rare Air ‘Deep Royal Blue’ is the first in this series and impresses with a mix of white, neutral grey, deep royal blue and muslin.
At first glance, the colourway is strongly reminiscent of legendary OGs such as the ‘Storm Blue’ or ‘Neutral Grey’. High-quality smooth leather provides the usual premium feel, while the perforated toebox and mesh lining ensure breathability. The muslin-coloured midsole provides vintage vibes, while the deep blue outsole grounds the look.
But the real highlight? The black Swoosh can be removed - underneath is a bright red Swoosh that gives the shoe a completely new look. The Wings logo has also been redesigned: Instead of the classic Jordan logo, it features ‘Nike Air’ lettering, which emphasises the ‘Rare Air’ character.
The AJ1 is delivered in a special box with a mismatched design, as already familiar from the ‘Lost and Found’ - another detail that will make collectors' hearts beat faster. Extra laces are also included for even more individuality.
