TLDR: Jordan Brand presents the Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Xuanwu’, a strictly limited edition that combines Chinese mythology, luxurious design and 40 years of Air Jordan. With only 3,399 numbered pairs, the sneaker will be available exclusively in Asia in February 2025 at a price of €355. The Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Xuanwu’ is part of the 2025 Lunar New Year collection and pays homage to the Year of the Snake and the legendary Xuanwu, one of the four celestial animals of Chinese mythology. Xuanwu, a warrior and symbol of protection, is often depicted with turtles and snakes - a theme that runs through the entire design of the sneaker.
The luxurious details begin with a base made of high-quality white leather, which has been refined with black and gold overlays in a snakeskin look. The Swoosh and heel feature brown and orange textures reminiscent of tortoiseshell patterns. A semi-transparent outsole in dark tones harmoniously rounds off the design. The laces are made of robust leather and each tongue is embossed with the sneaker's individual serial number.
Golden accents on the wings logo and lace tips provide additional opulence. In addition, traditional Chinese symbols such as cranes, peaches for longevity and clouds are incorporated on the Swoosh and heel, symbolising prosperity and harmony.
