Most people already know that the Chinese New Year is not celebrated on the same date as New Year's Eve in Europe. This year, the special holiday falls on February 12th and heralds the Year of the Ox.

As in the past, Nike and Jordan Brand will also take part in the festivities and celebrate the Chinese holidays in a familiar way. This year, there will once again be an extensive collection consisting of apparel and sneakers.

All in all, the Chinese New Year collection consists of 17 sneakers and additional apparel. Not all designs will be released here, but we do welcome some highlights. For example, this wicked Nike Blazer Mid Vintage 77 is part of the lineup, which will also be available in Europe.

Nike has divided the releases into different themes this year, one of which is craftsmanship, which is to be celebrated through some iterations. The Air Jordan 1 Low is probably one of the most eye-catching sneakers from the new collection. The popular silhouette has been fitted with a Bred colour blocking and sports a jacquard pattern that clearly alludes to the Year of the Ox. There's also a collectible card and tassels reminiscent of lotus roots in the accompanying packaging.
