TLDR: Jordan Brand continues its success story with iconic colourways and releases the Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Obsidian’ on 22 March 2025. Inspired by the UNC colour palette, the sneaker combines obsidian blue with university blue and a sail midsole. Fans of the popular 2019 AJ1 High ‘Obsidian’ can now look forward to a low version. The shoe comes in different sizes for the whole family at a retail price of 160 euros for men. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Obsidian’ is based on the coveted Air Jordan 1 High ‘Obsidian’ from 2019, which has established itself as one of the best UNC-inspired colourways. The combination of dark obsidian blue on the overlays, Swoosh and lacing as well as university blue on the heel and heel tab gives the sneaker an elegant and sporty look.
The upper is made from high-quality smooth leather, while the Sail midsole adds a vintage touch. The design is rounded off with a dark blue rubber outsole. The model also features mesh tongues and a padded inner lining for maximum comfort.
Even though the 2019 High versions went through the roof on the reseller market, the AJ1 Low OG ‘Obsidian’ might be easier for sneakerheads to get their hands on. Nevertheless, it remains a tribute to Michael Jordan's time at UNC.
