To mark the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5, Jordan Brand is bringing one of the most legendary colourways back to the market: the Air Jordan 5 ‘Grape’. The summer 2025 version remains as faithful to the 1990 original as ever – including Nike Air branding on the heel and the classic silhouette.
The design is based on a white leather base with striking accents in Grape Ice (purple) and New Emerald (turquoise green). It also features black details and the transparent outsole familiar from earlier versions. Particularly exciting for fans: compared to the retro drops from 2006 and 2013 and the laceless ‘Fresh Prince’ version from 2018, this version is visually closer to the original than any previous one.
The sneaker is deeply rooted in pop culture – thanks in part to its legendary appearance on Will Smith's feet in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and on the Wheaties box with Michael Jordan. Based on this colour palette, other variants have been created over the years, such as the ‘Black Grape’, ‘Alternate Grape’ and a golf edition.
