The Air Jordan 9 “Tune Squad” connects basketball history with one of Michael Jordan’s most memorable appearances on the big screen. The colourway originally debuted in 1993 and was initially known simply as the White, Black and Red edition. It gained its later “Space Jam” nickname through the film’s training scenes, in which Jordan wore the trainer alongside Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.
The design remains faithful to the original colour arrangement. Smooth white leather forms the base of the upper, while black nubuck wraps around the sculpted mudguard and extends towards the padded ankle. True Red highlights the Jumpman, the “Air Jordan” lettering on the tongue, and the number 23 and globe emblem at the heel.
For the 2026 edition, Jordan Brand has updated the shape to bring its proportions closer to the original 1993 construction. Familiar Air Jordan 9 features remain, including the speed-lacing system, sculpted midsole and outsole decorated with multilingual words representing Michael Jordan’s global influence.
The retro also arrives in special Tune Squad packaging created for the 30th anniversary of “Space Jam”. Team branding appears across the lid, while the inside features artwork of the gym where Jordan trained with the Looney Tunes in the film. The presentation turns an already significant OG colourway into an appealing collector’s release for both Jordan and movie fans.
