TLDR: The Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance Gator Run brings back a rare ’80s turf silhouette and gives it the usual clean ALD look. Cream-coloured mesh, leather and hairy suede are paired with a striking black studded sole and very subtle co-branding. It’s set to release on 14 August 2026 for €150. With the Gator Run, Aimé Leon Dore is tackling a significantly lesser-known New Balance silhouette. The model is based on the New Balance Gator from the 1980s and combines a simple, almost tennis-style upper with an aggressive turf outsole.
The ‘Cream’ colourway remains typically ALD: very understated, high-quality and heavily vintage-inspired. Cream-coloured mesh forms the base, complemented by matching leather and hairy suede overlays. The black sole provides a striking contrast and gives the otherwise very soft colourway a little more structure.
Aimé Leon Dore also keeps the branding to a minimum. The label’s Queens logo appears on the tongue, the insoles and the back tab, whilst the rest of the trainer remains very true to the original New Balance aesthetic.
The Gator Run is part of a wider Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance running collection, which also includes the FuelCell Rebel v5 and the FuelCell SC Elite. As always, you can find all the information on shops, available sizes and potential restocks on Grailify – it’s particularly worth checking the confirmed retailers early on for ALD releases 😉
