TLDR: On 16 May, the New Balance 475 returns in collaboration with Japanese label AURALEE - in two subtly washed-out colourways reminiscent of sun-bleached vintage sneakers. For €150, you get high-quality materials, muted colours and a nostalgic silhouette with modern elegance. As always, you can find all release information on Grailify! New Balance and AURALEE deepen their long-standing design relationship with a new interpretation of the 475. Originally released in 1986, the performance runner returns in this collaboration as a stylish retro sneaker for everyday wear. AURALEE gives the model its typically minimalist, high-quality signature.
There are two monochrome colourways to choose from: ‘Grey Day’ picks up on the charm of forgotten archive sneakers with faded grey tones and an artificially aged midsole, while ‘Aloe Wash’ literally interprets the idea of sun-bleached shoes with a yellowish tone. Both versions rely on fine nubuck leather, mesh elements and a profiled outsole with a wax coating, which gives the 475 a sophisticated vintage look.
Fine details such as a reflective ‘N’ logo with a leather accent, a CR heel cap and co-branding on the insole and tongue label round off the design. The packaging was also specially designed for this release. Anyone familiar with AURALEE knows that this is where Japanese restraint meets the highest material standards.
