BASKETCASE x New Balance Gator Run "Washed Burgundy"

TLDR: Basketcase and New Balance are back with the Gator Run ‘The Alternates’ collection. The two colourways, ‘Hacky’ and ‘Maiden’, combine football aesthetics, eye-catching materials and vintage running DNA. The global release is set for 19 June at €150.

Following their successful collaboration on the New Balance 204L, Basketcase and New Balance are back with a new project. This time, the focus is on the Gator Run – a silhouette with roots in football that has been completely reimagined for this collaboration.

Under the theme “The Alternates”, the collection celebrates all those who are part of the team but don’t always take centre stage. In keeping with this, the two partners are presenting two completely different colourways that explore football culture from different perspectives.

The more eye-catching of the two looks is called ‘Hacky’. Here, bright yellow side panels meet long-pile green suede overlays, visually reminiscent of a freshly played-on football pitch. Two-tone laces in green and yellow, a classic rubber sole and a small badge pin accessory round off the playful look.

The “Maiden” colourway, by contrast, is somewhat more understated. It combines light blue leather bases with burgundy suede overlays and a darker outsole. The result has a much cleaner look, yet remains just as distinctive thanks to the unusual colour combination.

Both versions feature high-quality mesh and suede materials, white linings and characteristic Basketcase details. The heels feature vintage-inspired star logos and ‘BASKET / CASE’ lettering that runs across both shoes.

The global launch of the Basketcase x New Balance Gator Run collection takes place on 19 June 2026. The collection will be available exclusively at Basketcase from 12 June, followed by an in-store release in Los Angeles on 13 and 14 June.
