With the fragment design x Nike Air Liquid Max, Nike is launching one of the most exciting new silhouettes for 2026. As part of the Air Max Day innovations, the model adopts a completely new concept that stands out clearly from previous ‘Dynamic Air’ approaches.

The focus is on the eye-catching sole with segmented Air elements, designed to create a ‘walking on air’ sensation. This is complemented by strategic cut-outs that reduce weight whilst improving flexibility and stability. The design is inspired by the structure of a poison dart frog and is particularly experimental.

The fragment design version remains typically understated: a clean black/anthracite colourway dominates the upper, whilst subtle blue details – particularly on the insole and in the packaging – emphasise Hiroshi Fujiwara’s signature look. Added to this are chrome Swooshes, ‘fragment concept testing’ branding and industrial lettering, which give the trainer a technical vibe.
