TLDR: The fragment design x Nike Mind 002 ‘Particle Grey’ combines minimalist design with innovative recovery technology. Flyknit upper, 22 sensor pods in the sole and subtle fragment details – releasing on 18 March 2026 for €140. Hiroshi Fujiwara and fragment design continue their long-standing partnership with Nike, launching the Nike Mind 002 – a new version of the experimental Mind silhouette. The focus here is less on classic performance sport and more on comfort, recovery and futuristic lifestyle design.
Visually, the sneaker remains extremely clean. The “Particle Grey” colourway features a monochrome grey that perfectly complements Fujiwara’s minimalist style. Instead of the usual padded upper, a breathable Flyknit material is used here, giving the shoe a lightweight, sock-like fit. This is complemented by a soft overlay in the forefoot area and narrow flat laces that run through visible Flywire cables, ensuring a secure hold.
The real highlight lies beneath the foot: the Nike Mind platform utilises 22 individual foam pods designed to stimulate specific pressure points in the foot. These small “sensor pistons” react to movement and pressure to promote comfort and relaxation – a concept heavily inspired by neuroscience and recovery design.
Despite the futuristic approach, the collaboration remains typical of fragment: branding is used very subtly. The double-lightning logo sits on the heel and insole, whilst the lettering “FRAGMENT CONCEPT TESTING” appears on the midsole. A small splash of colour comes from the characteristic fragment blue pods in the sole.
