TLDR: To mark the 35th anniversary of Spike Lee's film of the same name, the Jordan Spiz'ike Low ‘Do The Right Thing’ is being released in a more widely available version. Featuring white leather overlays, red and green accents and the iconic elephant print, the sneaker will be available from 22 September for €180. To mark the 35th anniversary of Spike Lee's classic film ‘Do The Right Thing,’ Jordan Brand is releasing a public version of the ‘Jordan Spiz'ike Low “Do The Right Thing”.’ The exclusive edition, with only 100 numbered pairs, was already unveiled in June at an event in Brooklyn, and now the wider release version is available for fans worldwide.
Visually, the sneaker remains largely faithful to the limited edition: a white leather upper, elephant print on the heel and mudguard, and red and green colour accents are reminiscent of the film's colour scheme and Brooklyn's street culture of the late 1980s. The vintage yellow midsole gives it an aged look with a retro character.
Unlike the limited edition version, however, the retail version does not feature special details such as the ‘DTRT 35’ tab, the 40 Acres and a Mule logo or the individual lace dubrae. Nevertheless, the model remains a real highlight – especially for fans of Spike Lee, retro basketball aesthetics and the cultural significance of the film.
Technically, the Spiz'ike combines elements from five classic Jordans, taking comfort, stability and cushioning to a new level.
