With the Cryo Shot series, Nike brings legendary football boots out of its archive and makes them wearable away from the pitch. This Jordan edition is based on the Mercurial Vapor 1, the boot worn by Ronaldo Nazário during Brazil’s successful 2002 World Cup campaign.

The low-profile upper is dressed almost entirely in University Red. Soft, slightly crinkled leather is combined with tonal suede Swooshes and flowing stitched lines that emphasise the aerodynamic shape of the original football boot.

Jordan DNA becomes particularly visible around the heel. Iridescent elephant print references the Air Jordan 3, while Metallic Silver details and an Infrared 23 Jumpman introduce additional contrast.

The translucent TPU sole is the centrepiece of the design. It encases a modified stud plate like a frozen collectable while making the former performance silhouette suitable for the street. A graphic taken from Nike’s 1996 “Frozen Moment” advert also appears beneath the heel, creating another connection between football and basketball history.

The Jordan x Nike Cryo Shot “University Red” was released on 26 August 2026. The lifestyle trainer is priced at 200€.
