The upcoming Nike Kobe Air Force 1 Low Protro ‘City of Champions’ is part of a limited edition collection for the 2026 All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles – and a tribute to the legendary Forum in Inglewood, the former home of the Lakers and the place where Kobe Bryant began his career.
Visually, the sneaker combines work blue corduroy with white smooth leather, while cracked Swooshes echo the weathered façade of the arena. The inside of the tongue features the embossed ‘67–99’ as a reference to the years the Lakers played at the Forum. A map of Inglewood is printed on the insole, while the glow-in-the-dark outsole references the arena's iconic glow at night.
The model has also been modernised technically: a ReactX drop-in midsole provides improved comfort, in line with Kobe's desire for performance-oriented retro sneakers. This means that the silhouette remains classic, but offers a much more contemporary running experience.
