The New Balance 1906L remains one of the most exciting hybrid trainers on the market in 2026. With the new “Concord” colourway, New Balance has opted for a striking monochrome blue this time, which draws even more attention to the futuristic loafer silhouette.

The upper consists of breathable mesh with curved synthetic overlays, taken directly from the classic 1906 Runner. Instead of traditional lacing, the clean slip-on construction with a wide strap is used once again, giving the trainer the look of a futuristic penny loafer.

Underfoot, the familiar 860v2 sole continues to deliver excellent comfort. Features such as the ABZORB midsole, visible ABZORB SBS heel pods and the N-ergy outsole ensure comfortable cushioning and stability for everyday wear. Black outsoles and silver cushioning elements provide subtle contrasts to the bold ‘Concord’ look.

The 1906L definitely remains a “you either get it or you don’t” trainer — which is exactly why it’s currently one of the most exciting New Balance silhouettes around.
