New Balance is further expanding its successful 204 range and, with the 204V, is jumping on the current Mary Jane and slip-on trend. Instead of traditional laces, the new lifestyle trainer features a single Velcro fastening across the instep, giving the shoe a modern blend of running DNA and fashion elements.
The upper is made from open technical mesh and is complemented by high-quality suede overlays on the toe box and sides. Beneath the strap, an elastic neoprene insert ensures a secure fit and makes the 204V particularly comfortable for everyday wear. The flat EVA midsole keeps the overall weight low and emphasises the sleek look of the silhouette, whilst the rubber outsole is based on running patterns from the 2000s and offers reliable grip.
Two eye-catching colourways are launching straight away: “Fan Blue/Vintage Indigo” combines bold shades of blue with black details, whilst “Neo Flame” features bright orange with black accents.
