With the 991v2, New Balance brings a modern evolution of the popular running classic to the ‘Vintage Sport’ pack. The new ‘Bluesteel’ colourway draws on traditional sportswear colours and combines them with a subtle distressed look, whilst retaining the high-quality ‘Made in UK’ aesthetic.

The upper consists of blue premium suede, dark mesh and synthetic nubuck overlays. ‘Bluesteel’, ‘Poseidon’ and ‘Harbour Mist’ create a multi-layered blue look, whilst the two-tone sole unit and off-white laces provide a clear vintage contrast. A yellowish-tinted CR element on the heel reinforces the deliberately aged character.

Technically, too, the 991v2 remains at a premium level. The full-length FuelCell midsole ensures a responsive and pleasantly soft ride. ENCAP combines soft foam with a sturdy polyurethane rim, whilst semi-transparent ABZORB-SBS pods in the heel area provide additional cushioning.

Reflective details, embossed lines on the ‘N’ logos and the embroidered ‘v2’ branding on the tongue round off the design. As usual, the trainer is manufactured in Flimby, England, and thus embodies the high-quality craftsmanship of the Made in UK range.
