TLDR: The Grand Collection x New Balance Numeric 770 combines minimalist design with functionality in the skateboarding sector. The two monochrome colourways in black and white will be available from 20 October 2025 at a price of €130. Sales will initially start exclusively on grandcollectionco.com, later also via NewBalance.com and selected retailers. With the clear message ‘Beauty in Simplicity,’ New York's Grand Collection is launching its first sneaker collaboration with New Balance. The focus is on the New Balance Numeric 770, a former cross-training shoe from the 1980s that has been optimised for use on the board by New Balance's ‘Numeric’ skate division. In collaboration with Grand, the model is being presented for the first time in a sophisticated full-leather version in all black or all white.
The otherwise multi-layered construction of the 770 has been deliberately reduced in this edition. Instead of eye-catching panels, both versions feature a clean leather upper with subtle co-branding details: an embroidered Grand logo on the heel, embossed lettering on the tongue and a subtle embossed ‘N’ lettering on the side.
Technically, the 770 impresses with its flat, grippy sole and robust materials. Grand Collection founder Ben Oleynik emphasises: ‘This model works just as well on the catwalk as it does on a skateboard.’ The footwear is complemented by a small apparel collection featuring tracksuits, windshirts and sweatsuits that echo the same minimalist look.
