With the SuperComp Rebel v1, New Balance is expanding its performance running range with a new training shoe designed to replicate the feel of a carbon-fibre racer as closely as possible. Whilst the SuperComp Elite v6 is clearly intended for competitions and marathons, the Rebel v1 is aimed at fast training sessions and preparation for race day.

At its heart is the new Infinion Foam. The foam is designed to return plenty of energy with every step whilst remaining lightweight and comfortable. With its latest performance models, New Balance is thus increasingly moving away from FuelCell and embracing a new generation of particularly dynamic cushioning.

Added to this is the Energy-Arc construction. It combines a special plate geometry with strategically placed cavities in the midsole to store more energy and release it again during the push-off. It is precisely this that is intended to give the Rebel v1 that fast, propulsive running feel, which is otherwise usually reserved for competition shoes.

New Balance has deliberately developed the Rebel v1 as a bridge between a daily trainer and a racer. You get more comfort and everyday practicality than with an uncompromising marathon shoe, without having to sacrifice the lively feel of a performance silhouette.
