Nike is reviving a true cult model from 1999 with the Nike Air Flightposite ‘Dusty Cactus’. Originally designed by design legend Eric Avar, the silhouette returns in a striking colourway that could have come straight from the future. While the Air Foamposite was often in the spotlight, the Flightposite was a real insider tip for retro fans and basketball nostalgics – but that could change with the new look.

The eye-catching upper comes in an iridescent blue-violet that changes colour depending on the light. It is combined with black neoprene, a zipper shroud for the characteristic look and a black outsole. A special highlight is the unique 3D graphic on the insole, which emphasises the futuristic design. Reflective laces and a silver carbon fibre plate also add a premium touch.

In addition to its striking appearance, the Flightposite also offers a number of functional features: Zoom Air cushioning, a carbon element for stability and the anatomical fit typical of this model. Although it is more of a fashion flex than a performance model, even ambitious runners will not be disappointed.

The ‘Dusty Cactus’/‘Persian Violet’ colourway is reminiscent of classics such as ‘Metallic Gold’ or ‘Eggplant’, but brings its own futuristic dynamic. A Clogposite model will be released at the end of June to match.

The release is scheduled for 26 June 2025.
