With the Air Force 1 Low “Horse of a Different Colour”, Nike once again demonstrates just how versatile Bruce Kilgore’s classic design is. The familiar low-top silhouette remains unchanged, but takes on a completely new character thanks to the long, shaggy upper.

The entire upper is covered in pony-hair-like material in Campfire Orange and Sunset. The eye-catching look extends across the panels, overlays, the Swoosh, the tongue and the heel area. This makes the trainer look almost like a small work of art, whilst remaining clearly recognisable as an Air Force 1 beneath the unusual surface.

Orange laces, tongue labels, dubraes and heel embroidery keep the colourway tonal. The white midsole provides a touch of calm, whilst the transparent orange outsole echoes the fiery design.

The name “Horse of a Different Colour” may allude to the colour-changing horse from *The Wizard of Oz*. Nike itself describes the trainer as inspired by a well-known film fantasy, but definitive confirmation of the exact source material is still pending.
