The latest version of the Air Max 1 has been inspired by the so-called Wabi-Sabi, a traditional Japanese aesthetic that focuses entirely on the transience and imperfection of life. The sneaker is mainly wrapped in earthy tones, while a canvas base is combined with suede overlays.

Another special feature is the graphics consisting of cracks, which can be found on the yellowish midsoles. Exposed stitching is also a key component of the sneaker, with a gum outsole perfectly framing the icon.

To allude to the silhouette's 35th anniversary, red stitching in a "XXXV" shape is placed on the rear outsides. Further allusions to the birthday can also be found on the inner soles. The usual tongue tags are replaced by transparent small windows that present a personalisable motif. You can choose between silver and gold Swoosh smileys, the Air Max Day date, or a name tag. The Swoosh smileys can also be found on the heels of the sneaker.
