TLDR: The Nike Air Max 90 ‘Infrared Carbon Fibre’ combines iconic design elements with modern materials. The classic ‘Reverse Infrared’ colourway is enhanced by woven carbon fibre textiles, black and grey suede details and bright red accents. Despite the futuristic look, the legendary Air cushioning is retained. Available from 1 February 2025 for €160. To mark the 35th anniversary of the Air Max 90, Nike is releasing a revised version of the popular classic. The ‘Infrared Carbon Fiber’ edition combines modern performance materials with the legendary colour palette of the original from the 90s.
The most striking new feature is the woven carbon fibre textile, which extends over large parts of the upper and gives the sneaker a futuristic touch. This is presumably an optical imitation, but the pattern creates a unique structure. The design is rounded off with a black toe box and ankle section, a dark grey suede quarter panel and bright crimson accents on the midsole and eyelets.
Aside from the visual highlights, the Air Max 90 remains true to its roots: the visible Air cushioning in the heel ensures optimum comfort and a pleasant running sensation.
