Nike is continuing its World Cup-inspired “Scorpion” collection, reviving one of the most legendary chapters in its own football history. The Air Max 90 “Scorpion” draws direct inspiration from the famous “Secret Tournament” advertising campaign of 2002, which, featuring the biggest football stars of the era and the iconic Scorpion logo, still enjoys cult status today.

Visually, the trainer features a predominantly black construction of leather and mesh, broken up by striking Gamma Blue details. Particularly eye-catching are the new Scorpion logos on the heel, which replace the classic Nike Air branding. Further blue accents appear on the midsole and in the mudguard window, creating the collection’s signature look.

Chrome Swooshes on both sides lend the Air Max 90 a modern contrast, whilst the outsole, featuring a striking X-ray graphic design, further emphasises the football theme.

The Air Max 90 is part of a wider “Scorpion” collection, which also includes the Air Max 95, Air Max Plus, Air Max Plus VII and another Air Max 90. Together, they celebrate one of the most defining marketing chapters in the history of Nike Football.
