Nike's shoe range is huge, and therefore we celebrate an anniversary of a sneaker almost every year. Sometimes, however, the birthdays overlap, as is the case with the Nike Air Force 1 and the Air Max 97. The AF1 is 40 years old, while the Nike Air Max 97 is a proud 25 years old.

However, unlike Bruce Kilgore's classic, which is probably due to the lack of notable collabs, we have rarely seen the sneaker with the large Air Max unit. That may change in the second half of 2022 though, as Nike has now confirmed this Nike Air Max 97 OG "Silver Bullet" (2022).

The popular colourway inspired by Japan's innovative bullet train returns this year. It has the signature design with a silver finish and coloured accents. The former covers the leather overlays and mesh base, while red hits Nike's brand logos. Reflective stripes also appear in between, and white midsoles and black outsoles are used at the very bottom.
