TLDR: The Nike Air Max Dolce ‘Old Royal’ brings back an experimental silhouette from 2002. A bright blue upper, flexible cage construction and visible Air cushioning combine to create an unusual blend of trainer and loafer. It’s set to be released on 3 October 2026 for €160. With the Air Max Dolce, Nike is reviving one of the more unusual models from its own archives. The flat slip-on design almost resembles a futuristic loafer, whilst the chunky sole unit and visible Air element are clearly drawn from the Air Max universe.
The upper is almost entirely in Old Royal and is made from textile with moulded side panels. Instead of classic lacing, a flexible grid construction wraps around the forefoot. A black lining and a black midsole provide a striking contrast to the bright blue.
A large visible Air element in the heel area ensures the necessary comfort. The sturdy rubber outsole echoes the black colour scheme and adds subtle accents with small blue panels.
