Football history meets one of the most recognisable Air Max colour combinations of all time. The Nike Air Max Joga Bonito “Neon” pairs the streamlined shape of Ronaldo Nazário’s Mercurial R9 with the visible cushioning of the Air Max 95. It also recalls Nike’s 2006 “Joga Bonito” campaign, which celebrated the creativity, passion and joy associated with Brazilian football.

The synthetic upper adopts the flowing lines of the Mercurial and covers them in different shades of grey and anthracite. Light grey piping outlines the individual sections, recreating the graduated appearance of the Air Max 95. A black mudguard connects the upper to the sole, while white laces, a white tongue and matching inner lining provide additional contrast.

The colourway takes its name from the bright Neon Yellow accents. The lateral Swoosh, smaller logos on the tongue and heel, and the visible Air units in the forefoot and heel all reference the unmistakable colour of the original Air Max 95 “Neon” from 1995.

The combination also has a deeper historical connection. During the 2002 World Cup, Brazilian players including Ronaldo and Ronaldinho were famously seen wearing the Air Max 95 “Neon” away from the pitch. This hybrid therefore brings Mercurial DNA, Air Max culture and Brazilian football nostalgia together in one lifestyle trainer. Nike states that the model fits small and recommends ordering half a size up.

Following its US launch, the Nike Air Max Joga Bonito “Neon” will be released in Germany on 10 September 2026. The price is set at 180€.
